Commended clues are as follows:
Liz Wilhide, London: Stroke cat before dog (7) WHIPPET
Kieron Dineen, Newport: It's a holiday, so get a piece of cake and read Nuts distractedly inside (6,6) EASTER SUNDAY
James Glassonbury, Stonehouse, Glos: Turn industrial centre into repository (7) ARC/HIVE
James Edwards, Lambeth: Loves, second thoughts a mistake (4) OOPS
This week’s medallists:
Bronze: I'm not entirely sure that 'that crisis' indicates an anagram of 'that', but the clue reads beautifully: Exciting as news can be covering that crisis (12) BREATHTAKING Sil Van den Hoek, Cambridge.
Silver: A fun entry from Kieron Dineen, though I think the lower case 'p' of 'posh' may be deemed unfair: Lie back with champagne cocktail in posh place (10,6) BECKINGHAM PALACE.
AND THE WINNER!

Gold: A neat entry from Barnaby Page, Harwich: Great Scott! I have no bananas! (7) IVANHOE.
Well done to all those who got mentioned, and thank you to all who sent clues.
Enjoy your week!
Best wishes,
John (Paul)
